Just read on Pitchfork this morning about Sufjan Stevens’ new album, The Age of Adz. It seems it won’t be anything similar to Illinoise or the latest All Delighted People EP. It’s funny both EP and new album are coming out in a period when I feel like listening to Sufjan’s music. I did put Illinoise among my top ten list of the decade, and yeah I do play quite a few of his songs on my guitar (with controversial results), and yeah I do not give a shit about him not releasing another full-lenght about a state (it would have been nice though, there were rumors about some mysterious album about Minnesota…). It’s interesting this album seems to have replaced banjos with electronic (electric banjo?).
I’m going for drinks to the Clarence Hotel (Octagon Bar) with a few friends (40-50) for a party this evening. The Clarence might not be the best indie spot in Dublin but it’s a place where you can talk at least. Music’s not so loud, most importantly Pink’s not included in the soundtrack. From those who do not know it, the Clarence’s a boutique hotel in Temple Bar owned by Bono & the Edge from U2. Chances to see them there are ridiculously small (not that I care) since they are on tour. Anyway, it looks like it’s going to be another long night. For the occasion, I found a cover of Sunday Bloody Sunday/Pride (in the Name of Love) by the Roots via Cover Me. Enjoy!
Nude Tilt is the opening track from the eponymous We Have a Room with Everything EP by Teams. The record went out on August 20th. It’s chill-out, it’s experimental, it’s indie - you’ll find very few entries about this, only one place two places where to buy it from (one is Amdiscs). It’s copy and paste, it’s great joy, it’s something enjoyable. You can listen to the entire EP for free on Bandcamp and buy it for $5.
